What is PM-KISAN Yojana?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a centrally sponsored scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. Under this scheme, the Indian Government provides financial support of ₹6,000 per year to all eligible farmer families across the country in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each every four months. The funds are transferred directly to the farmer’s bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the disbursement process.

The Government of India has put some Eligibility Criteria of PM-Kishan Yojana. To be eligible under PM-KISAN scheme, a farmer must meet the following conditions:

- Must be an Indian citizen
- Small and marginal farmers owning cultivable land
- Families having a combined landholding of up to 2 hectares (initial phase, later extended)
- Now all landholding farmer families, irrespective of the size of landholding

- Institutional landholders
- Former or present holders of constitutional posts
- Serving or retired government employees
- Income taxpayers in the last assessment year
