Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS & Havaldar Recruitment 2025

1. Nationality / Citizenship

Candidates must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962
  • Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India

> Note: Candidates from categories other than Indian citizens must produce an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

2. Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)

• For SSC MTS

  • 18 to 25 years
  • Date of Birth should be between 02.08.2000 and 01.08.2007

• For SSC Havaldar

  • 18 to 27 years
  • Date of Birth should be between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007

Selection Process – SSC MTS & Havaldar Recruitment 2025

🔹 1. Computer-Based Examination (CBT)

All applicants (both MTS and Havaldar) must appear for the Computer-Based Test, which includes:

  • Objective-type questions covering subjects like General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and English.
  • It is the common qualifying stage for both posts.

> Note: The detailed exam scheme and syllabus will be provided in the official notification annexures.

🔹 2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST) (Only for Havaldar)

Only candidates applying for the Havaldar post will have to clear this additional stage after the CBT.

🔹 3. Document Verification (DV)

All candidates shortlisted after CBT (and PET/PST for Havaldar) must attend Document Verification conducted by the respective user departments.

Candidates must carry:

  • Proof of educational qualifications
  • Identity documents
  • Caste/PwBD/EWS certificates (if applicable)
  • Any other required documents as per SSC instructions

How to Apply for SSC MTS & Havaldar Recruitment 2025

1. Mode of Application

  • Applications must be submitted online only at the new official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
  • Candidates can also apply via the mySSC mobile app, available on Google Play Store.

> Applications through any other mode will not be accepted.

2. One-Time Registration (OTR)

  • Mandatory for all candidates — even if registered earlier at [ssc.nic.in], they must register afresh at ssc.gov.in.
  • Once registered on the new website, the OTR remains valid for future SSC exams as well.

> Instructions and sample formats for OTR and application forms are available in Annexure-III and Annexure-IIIA of the official notice.

  • Candidates are strongly encouraged to opt for Aadhaar-based verification during OTR.
  • Benefits include:
    • No need to upload photo/signature manually
    • No requirement to carry photo ID to the exam centre
    • Application not rejected for minor image mismatches

4. Capturing Live Photograph

  • Applicants need no pre-taken photo.
  • The system captures a live photo using the device’s camera with the following conditions:
    • Plain background and good lighting
    • Face centered and visible inside the designated frame
    • No cap, spectacles, headphones, or mask
    • Eyes open and facing forward

> Applications with blurry or misaligned photos may be rejected.

5. Uploading Signature

  • Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10–20 KB)
  • Dimensions: 6.0 cm (width) × 2.0 cm (height)

6. Completing the Application Form

  • Fill in all required personal, educational, and preference details
  • Choose exam centers (usually 3 options allowed)
  • Pay the applicable fee (as specified) via online mode only
  • Submit the form and download/print confirmation page
