The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa, established the Assam Orunodoi Scheme to assist underprivileged women. It originally went live on October 2, 2020. Orunodoi 3.0 is a new and better version that will help 37 lakh women instead of 17 lakh. Each woman will receive Rs. 1,250 monthly, an increase from the previous Rs. 830. Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) will transfer the money to their bank accounts. This program provides financial assistance to low-income households. It also assists women in becoming more self-sufficient and better caring for the health and nutrition of their children.
