Assam Apun Bahan Scheme 2025
The Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sharma, has established the Apun Bahan Scheme with the goal of providing financial assistance to all Permanent State Government Employees. The Apun Bahan Scheme aims to make it easier for families to get motor vehicle loans for the purchase of vehicles. The government, through the Apum Bahan Scheme, will grant interest subsidies on car loans from Scheduled Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks, and Assam Cooperative Banks recognized by the Reserve Bank of India.
The Assam government will provide an interest subsidy for permanent state employees who purchase a car. Male employees will receive a 2% interest subsidy when purchasing diesel/petrol cars, and a 3% interest subsidy when purchasing an electric vehicle.
Women and Divyangjan employees would receive a 3% interest subsidy when purchasing any type of vehicle, whether diesel/petrol or electric. Employees would be provided with a maximum loan of 15 lakh or 48 times their monthly salary, whichever is lower.

Assam Apun Bahan Scheme Objectives and Benefits
- To Realize the Dream of Owning a Four Wheeler in the House of Permanent State Employees.
- To provide an interest subsidy on a loan for car purchases.
- To assist Male, Female, and Divyangjan in purchasing a vehicle.
- To grant a loan of 15 lakh rupees or 48 times the monthly salary, whichever is lower.
- To provide a 2% interest subsidy on the purchase of a diesel or petrol car and a 3% subsidy on the purchase of an electric vehicle to male employees.
- To provide a 3% interest subsidy to female and differently abled employees for the purchase of any vehicle.
Assam Apun Bahan Loan Scheme
Banks will provide term loans for the purchase of two and four-wheeler vehicles. This scheme will not include three-wheeled vehicles. The maximum loan amount is either 48 times the net monthly income or 15 lakh rupees, whichever is less. The bank will finance between 80 and 90 percent of the vehicle’s on-road pricing. The interest will be distributed by crediting it to the employees’ salary accounts.
Assam Apun Bahan Scheme Guidelines
- The repayment loan for a vehicle loan will be for a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years.
- The repayment will be based on equal monthly installments.
- Vehicles purchased should be registered in the name of the employee and cannot be used for commercial purposes.
- The scheme is designed to accommodate only one vehicle per employee.
- The employee declares that he has not purchased any other vehicles under the same scheme.
- A copy of the vehicle registration must be supplied to the Branch for record-keeping.

- The applicant must be a permanent state employee.
- The applicant’s age must be between 21 and 53 years.
- The net annual income must be at least 3 lakh rupees or more.
- The loan will be issued for a maximum of 7 years.
- Three-wheeler vehicle loans are not eligible for this scheme.
- Only two and four-wheeler purchase loans are eligible under the Apun Bahan Scheme.

Step 1: The Apun Bahan Scheme Application Form can be obtained from the respective banks.
Step 2: Fill out the application form with all of your personal information, including your name, department, and bank account statement.
Step 3: Fill up your complete address information.
Step 4: Employees will submit their application forms through their DDOs, together with a complete set of documents as specified in the application form.
Step 5: The Concerned Bank will conduct a thorough review, and the Bank Team will issue a final sanction based on the proposal.
