Gunotsav Result 2025: Gunotsav is a government of Assam initiative that began in 2017 to track the performance of every child in elementary and secondary school, analyze their individual learning gap, and design remedial strategies to improve their performance. It is an accountability framework for enhancing educational quality that incorporates children’s learning results, co-curricular activities, resource use, and community participation.

The Gunotsav exercise evaluates four basic areas: scholastic (children’s learning outcomes), co-scholastic, infrastructure, and community participation. Schools are assessed as A+, A, B, C, and D based on their performance (90% in Scholastic, 5% in Co-scholastic and other areas, and 5% in Community Participation and Contributions. This exercise aids in the identification of learning gaps and the implementation of suitable remedial procedures for all children to achieve grade-specific learning outcomes.

Gunotsav 2025 Official Schedule

The Department of School Education in Assam staged the ‘Gunotsav 2025’ in three phases across the state from January 6 to February 9, 2025.

Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu stated, “Gunotsav-2025 will be held in three phases from January 6 to February 9.” All preparations are moving on schedule. Gunotsav will assess 43,23,499 kids throughout 45,629 schools. We seek everyone’s participation.”

Here is the official schedule of Gunotsav 2025.

Phase I Districts: Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sibsagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, Udalguri.

Phase II Districts: Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, , Hailakandi, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup (Metro), Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia.

Phase III Districts: Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao, Majuli, West Karbi Anglong.

Note: Gunotsav for Bajali and Tamulpur will be conducted by Barpeta and Baksa respectively.

What are the Steps to Evaluate through Gunotsav?

The Gunotsav evaluation process involves the following steps:

School Evaluation

The School Evaluation (Co-scholastic, Community Participation, and Infrastructure) will be completed in advance by the school and submitted online three days (03) before the External Evaluation.

School Evaluation will be in respect of following areas:

> Co-scholastic and other areas
> Community Participation& Contributions
> Infrastructure

External Evaluation

On the day of the External Evaluation, the External Evaluator will verify all indicators and descriptors of the School Evaluation based on the record/observation/interaction with stakeholders, and update (as needed). On the same day as the External Evaluation, the External Evaluator will upload the verified/edited School Evaluation section into the same program.

OMR sheet
> Evaluation will be OMR based.
> From Class —III level onwards, students will fill up the OMR sheet themselves.
> Individual question papers will be provided to each student.
> For class I & II, class wise OMR sheets will be there for marking/transferring of responses. External Evaluator/teachers will darken OMR sheet as per responses of the students in the question booklet cum answer sheet.
> From class III onwards, OMR sheet will be for individual child.

How to Check Gunotsav Results?

Gunotsav 2025 will be held from January 6th to February 9th, 2025. As a result, the Department of School Education, Assam will release the Gunotsav 2025 results in due course. Schools can check the Gunotsav results on the official website by entering their UDISE Code and Password.
