About Laxmi Bhander Scheme
The Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme is a flagship initiative by the Government of West Bengal, launched in February 2021, aimed at providing financial assistance to women from economically weaker sections of society. The scheme seeks to empower women by offering them a steady source of income to support their daily needs and promote financial independence.

Citizens of West Bengal State who have applied for the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme can now view the Laxmi Bhander beneficiary list online at the official website. The applicant can quickly check the beneficiary list using their registered mobile number. The West Bengal government would provide financial support to all applicants whose applications accepted for the Laxmi Bhandar scheme. Under the Lakshmi Bhandar initiative, the government will distribute Rs 1000 per month to general-category families and Rs 1200 to SC/ST families. Laxmi Bhandar Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal.
- Women aged between 25 and 60 years.
- Permanent residents of West Bengal.
- Households enrolled under the ‘Swasthya Sathi’ scheme.
- Not employed in permanent government positions or receiving government pensions.
- In general, households with at least one tax-paying member are ineligible for this scheme.
- If the applicant belongs to the general category he must not have more than two hectares of land in the West Bengal State.
Laxmi Bhandar Scheme Revised Budget Under WB State Budget 2025
To assist more West Bengal State inhabitants through the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme, the West Bengal State government would amend the scheme in the state budget 2024. Mr Chandrima Bhattacharya, the finance minister of West Bengal, declared that the state government will expand the Lakshmi Bhandar application list by 13 lakh new applicants. Many inhabitants of West Bengal will benefit from the extension of the Lakshmi Bhandar initiative. Under the amended Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme, the West Bengal government will distribute INR 1200 to SC and ST residents and INR 1000 to all other categories in the state.
